This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party services that RealTax IQ may integrate with, such as Plaid or payment processors, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

Account Information: Your name, email address, phone number, business name, business structure, industry, and business address that you provide when registering or updating your profile.

Financial Information: When you choose to connect a financial institution through Plaid, RealTax IQ receives transaction data, account balances, and related details through Plaid's secure connection. We do not receive or store your online banking username or password.

Receipt and Document Data: Images and extracted data from receipts and supporting documents you upload or scan using our OCR features, including vendor, date, amount, and category information.

Mileage Data: Trip dates, addresses, distances, and business purposes you enter or capture through the mileage tracking features available on eligible plans.

Usage and Interaction Data: How you interact with the Service, including feature usage, questions submitted to ACE AI, generated reports, and device and log information such as IP address and browser type.

Communications: Records of your communications with us, including support requests, notifications, and messages sent through the Service.

We use your information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the RealTax IQ Service and its features, including income and expense tracking, receipt scanning, mileage tracking, tax estimates, and report generation.
• Categorize and organize your transactions, including through ACE AI-assisted categorization and merchant learning.
• Calculate estimated tax obligations, audit risk indicators, tax health scores, and Financial DNA insights.
• Generate tax-readiness summaries, monthly reports, and exportable documents.
• Communicate with you about your account, security alerts, reminders, and important updates.
• Provide educational tax guidance through the ACE AI assistant based on information you have entered.
• Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal or financial information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service Providers: With trusted third parties that process data on our behalf, such as Plaid for bank connectivity, payment processors for billing, cloud hosting, and document generation providers, under contracts that require them to protect your information.
• At Your Direction: When you choose to share reports or data with an accountant or other party you authorize.
• Legal Compliance: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of RealTax IQ, our users, or others.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice where appropriate.

When you connect a financial institution, RealTax IQ uses Plaid to securely access your financial account information. Plaid acts as the secure intermediary between your financial institution and RealTax IQ.

RealTax IQ does not receive or store your online banking username or password. These credentials are used by Plaid solely to establish a secure, tokenized connection. RealTax IQ receives transaction and balance data through this connection, and sensitive account identifiers are protected and never exposed.

Plaid's access to and use of your financial data is governed by Plaid's own privacy policy and your authorization. You may disconnect a linked account at any time, and RealTax IQ will cease receiving new data from that institution.

We take the security of your information seriously and use industry-standard safeguards to protect it. These measures include encrypted connections, tokenized bank connections, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure.

Sensitive identifiers are protected and never exposed in plain text. Access to your data is restricted to authorized personnel and systems on a need-to-know basis.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Tax-related records are retained for the periods necessary to support tax filing, reporting, and compliance obligations.

When you close your account or request deletion, we will deactivate your account and remove or anonymize your personal information in accordance with applicable law and our retention schedule, except where we are required to retain records for legal, accounting, or compliance purposes.
